The iPhone Does It All

Posted by admin under Technology

I just recently bought an iPhone and I have to say that it is all that…and then some. I always hate getting something new when it comes to transferring everything over and all the new things you have to get used to. But the transition to the iPhone was unbelievably simple. I was looking at all of my favorite gadgets the other day. There they were sitting there on my desk. My GPS device, a handheld Pocket PC, my cell phone, and an MP3 Player. They looked a little lonely. Just a short while back, these cool gadgets were both practical and fun. Now they have been rendered useless…by my new iPhone. Because it does it all. The iphone is what each of these things were, and even better. As far as transferring all my contacts, songs, emails, etc…it was as easy as plugging the iPhone into the computer with USB. This magic thing called sync did the rest. It was amazing. Now my only concern is what to do with my old favorite gadgets. They all still work, but I don’t need them anymore. Maybe I will clear some space on the shelf and call it the Gadget Hall of Fame.

Stress is a word we are all too familiar with. Is it something that we can control?  In many cases, I believe the answer to be yes.  Feeling overwhelmed at times can lead to stress.  One suggestion I have which has worked for me many times is to focus on one thing at a time.  For example, if you work in an office and your desk is full of scattered papers, this can lead to stress just by looking at it.  Try organizing the papers by placing the highest priority items on top.  Focus on that top form, complete that task, and then move on to the next.  Then when distractions occur, and they will, return to your work working on the top form once again.  As the pile gets smaller, you feel the feeling of satisfaction of accomplishment.  As more work comes to you, simply prioritize it by placing it in the pile at the appropriate spot.  Of this may not work for everyone that it has worked for me many times.  Give it a try and see if your stress level doesn’t drop a notch or two.

I wonder how many of these so called diet pills actually work?  You can’t help but see them.  They’re  everywhere. You see them all over the Internet, infomercials, commercials and magazines. They all pretty much claim the same thing, pop a few of these pills and watch the pounds melt away. I have talked to several health experts who have told me that 95% of those pills do not work. The problem is we don’t know what the 5% of them do work.  What I get tired of is seeing these skinny people on TV that claim all they did this take a few pills each day and miraculously they lost 30 pounds.  Anybody ever wonder how there could be a before and after picture? I mean I understand the after picture.  But what I don’t understand is that before picture.  Here is this rather obese person grinning from ear to ear.  What do they have to smile about anyway? Well maybe it’s that they know they’re gonna lose that 30 are 40 pounds. I guess if I knew I was going to drop 30 pounds I’d probably be smiling too.

A Daily Dose of Finances

Posted by admin under Finances

I wonder how other people manage to do their financial business. Do they just squeeze a little time out of each day to pay those pesky little bills, or do they set aside a special day each week to take care of it all at once. For me, I like to do a little each day. I set aside 15 minutes each morning and check my accounts online, pay bills, and move some money around. But maybe it would be better to just do it one day out of the week. Then I wouldn’t get a little dose of depression each day when I realize I don’t have that much money to worry about anyway. So the question becomes a little dose daily, or a big dose weekly? For me, I think I stick with a small daily dose. Then my mind can recover a little quicker.
